Little Planet Preschool is located in Winchester, MA. We offer an exceptional program steeped in play and fun. Little Planet Preschool provides a safe, secure, nurturing environment for all children, as we know this need must be met first. Children will be ready to explore, learn, and develop the skills necessary to succeed in school. Little Planet Preschool’s early education program is exceptional and distinguished. Fully licensed by the State of Massachusetts, we offer an expansive facility, highly qualified teachers, and unmatched educational excellence.  Knowing that little ones learn best when they are active and moving, our curriculum is based on an active learning philosophy. The lesson plans are built around developmentally appropriate learning activities that help our students to be actively engaged as they explore, experience, and learn. In addition to outstanding academics, our students can enjoy additional enrichment programs including high-quality gymnastics lessons as part of our regular preschool programs!

Our environment is carefully designed to promote the ease of learning through our play based curriculum which includes exploring literacy, numeracy, science, music, and art.  We know early childhood is the best way to achieve cognitive, social-emotional, and physical well-being. These are the precious years of learning that lay the foundation for the future. Years of research into child development and early learning show that educational readiness depends on interrelated developmental domains including:

  • Motor Development
  • Physical well-being
  • Social Development
  • Language Development
  • Basic Knowledge & Skills

Research shows that movement and learning are intimately connected, and that complex movement helps prepare, organize and develop the brain for what we term “higher learning”.  In addition to the ‘process of learning complex movement, it has also been shown to be connected to the development of the brain’s ‘executive function’ which has been shown to be associated with academic success. Integrative movement has been shown to affect the following:

  • Focus/Attention.
  • Language
  • Concentration
  • Reading
  • Problem Solving
  • Writing
  • Speech
  • Behavior
  • Abstract Thought
  • Math

We believe parents/families are the first and most prominent teachers in the children’s lives; therefore, as parents/families you will be asked to participate in the development of goals (inside and outside the classroom) for your child.
